Feasibility Assessment Underway for the Affordable Housing Initiative

Oak Bay United Church is pleased to announce that the Property Resource Team (from the Pacific Mountain Region of The United Church of Canada) will be undertaking a feasibility assessment of redevelopment options for our site at Granite and Mitchell Streets in Oak Bay.

This feasibility period will ensure that any potential redevelopment option(s) under consideration will value neighbourhood enhancement while creating much needed purpose-built rental housing, community space and infrastructure for Oak Bay residents.

The Property Resource Team has retained the professional services of Colliers International Consulting, who will undertake their research over the summer months (July to September 2019).

If a development option is deemed feasible, steps will be taken to revise the Rezoning Application that is currently before the District of Oak Bay and open a dialogue with the community. Our hope is to come up with a financially feasible redevelopment plan that will enable the United Church to build a project that the community can embrace.
