The amazing, articulate and skilled Cathy Cryder, Children & Family Minister at Dunbar Ryerson United Church in Vancouver BC, is coming to Oak Bay United on Saturday, September 23rd, to lead a special Door Person training morning.
Door Person Training, in the Godly Play way
Oak Bay United Community Hall and Godly Play room
Bring a bag lunch, refreshments will be served
What’s a door person?! In Godly Play, our children’s ministry curriculum, ‘door person’ is the special role of intentionally greeting each child, one at a time, as they come into the program space. The door person also ‘holds’ a prayerful presence for the all the people in Godly Play during the program – for the participants (children), and the story teller (adult). A door person can be a teen, young adult, elder, and anyone of any gender. A door person can also be a Greeter in the Narthex! When people first arrive to Oak Bay United on Sunday morning for Worship & Song, the Greeter’s welcome to the space and the attentive presence during worship, helps all to feel that their presence makes a difference.
This is a FREE workshop for anyone from Oak Bay United who would like to attend – children’s church leaders, greeters & hospitality team members, board members, thrift community volunteers - and $25 for those outside of the Oak Bay United congregation.
