At Oak Bay United we believe that every person is a beloved child of God. Regardless of age, sexual orientation, race or colour, you are welcome here.

We believe that children and youth are an important part of our community of faith so we offer special activities and programs for children while striving to create an experience that is hospitable, joyful and relevant to all. Our welcoming and hospitality team hopes to meet you, answer any questions you might have, and make you feel at ease. After worship, you are invited to share in a time of fellowship and conversation in the Community Hall. Please join us for Sunday worship or mid-week activities.

We believe that God’s presence with us and amongst us enriches our lives and we pray that you also can experience God’s presence in your life through the work of Oak Bay United Church.

We look forward to having you join us.

A Welcoming Congregation Print E-mail
Written by Gaye Sharpe

In the past year a purpose statement was adopted by the congregation. Our purpose is to be a vibrant, growing, inclusive and intergenerational Christian church that:

Welcomes - newcomers into community through radical hospitality

Transforms – our lives through spiritual support and development,

Serves – the world through our people and their gifts It is easy to claim the identity as a welcoming church – no congregation sees themselves as unwelcoming- so let’s consider what welcoming might look like.
