Oak Bay United's Thrift Shop and Thrift Shop Annex are a ministry of the Church, staffed by volunteers who value the relationships they develop through their work, and making an important contribution to the whole community.

Important Thrift Shop Donation Guidelines

What may NOT be donated?

The Thrift & Annex are not able to accept large appliances, computers and printers, skis, hide-a -beds, mattresses more than five years old, building supplies, car seats, cribs more than five years old, flotation devices, bike helmets, broken, wet or dirty items.

Please help our volunteers by respectfully not donating these items, and please do not leave ANY items on church property after-hours.

What may be donated?

Thrift Shop Accepted Donations: Gently used clothing for all ages, household items, appliances, linens, furniture, books, toys, jewelry, art, home care aids.

Items must be clean and in working order.

When may donations be dropped off?

Thrift Shop Donation Hours: Donations of the above listed items are Wednesday mornings between 9am - 12pm. We do reserve the right to not accept donations as space is limited.

Please help our volunteers by respectfully donating during Donation Hours, and please do not leave donations on church property after-hours.

Who do I contact if I need something picked up or delivered?

Thrift Shop Pick Up and Delivery Service: Donors may call the Church Office during office hours to arrange pick up. Pick up and deliveries are scheduled for Wednesdays and Fridays only (9am-12pm), within a reasonable distance, and a delivery charge will apply. Please note that pick ups and drops offs are on a first come, first served basis and time and space are limited.

Every Friday beginning Sept. 20th, 10am - 1pm, (except Good Friday) and on the first Saturday of the month, 10am-12:30pm.

Some of the community and global agencies the Oak Bay Thrift Shop & Annex support are Our Place, Sandy Merriman, Out of Rain Youth, Compassionate Resource Warehouse, Burnside Gorge Housing Outreach, Reading Tree, and Oak Bay United Church.
