Katharine says that the most important action we can take for the climate is to TALK about it. This is difficult when it seems that everyone is worried but nobody is talking! This study group will help us to feel less alone with our worries and to decide together about what action to take. We will discuss one section of the book each session. You are warmly welcome to join us for any or all of these sessions.

Calling Crafters of All Ages and Stages!

All are invited to an hour or more of intergenerational fun and fellowship! Following the service on the second Sunday of every month, bring a handwork/crafty activity of any sort to the Community Hall to work on it while spending time with friends (or making new friends!).

In the interest of safety and sound levels, we ask that you not bring any power tools.

In honour of Earth Day 2026, join us for an all-ages community storytelling and art event, featuring author Robert “Lucky” Budd.

The event will begin at 2 pm (doors at 1:45 pm) in the OBUC Sanctuary, with Budd sharing Peace Dancer, a recounting of the traditional Northwest Coastal legend of a great flood. Sent in response to disrespectful behaviour, the flood causes the people to re-examine their values and to re-commit to living in respect and harmony with all life.

Afterwards, all are invited to the downstairs Community Hall for hands-on art activities for all ages. All art materials will be provided, and light refreshments will be available.

This event is suitable for all ages. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

Entry to the Oak Bay United Church Sanctuary is via Granite St.

Accessibility: for those with limited mobility, the OBUC Sanctuary can be reached by an accessibility lift, located off Granite Street, just east of the main entrance ramp.
