Fall Study Group: Exploring World Religions
Exploring World Religions
“Each of the world’s religions may seem foreign to ‘outsiders,’ but to an ‘insider,’ each represents a means by which both a particular society and creation as a whole can be understood more completely.”
Our adult study series this fall is an opportunity to come and explore the 6 major world religions, and to learn more about faith in our neighbours. Each week will begin with a prayer from the tradition that is being focussed on, and participants will have an opportunity to share with one another their past experiences with that faith tradition. We will then view a video together that explores the history, texts, traditions and holidays of each faith, and end with some questions to think about and reflect upon.
The hope is that as we explore some of the major religions of the world, we will gain a renewed understanding of the diverse world around us and of each other as human beings. Come and learn more about other faiths. All are welcome!
Each session in stand-alone, so you do not need to attend all of them. Study group will meet Tuesdays in the chapel or community hall, 4:30-6 pm.

      Slow Fashion Show
Slow Fashion Show
Hosted and sponsored by the Climate Whisperers
Immediately following worship in the sanctuary, we invite you to sit back and relax to enjoy a quick SLOW FASHION show. Members of the congregation will model items of clothing that are treasured, some well worn, others either recycled or up-cycled, yet others created with love, one stitch at a time. The inimitable June Carver will provide the commentary, and Curt Bergen will provide mood music to accompany the models across the catwalk.
Following the show, we’ll adjourn to the Community Hall for refreshments in the form of Soup & Soul. Everyone is invited to wear clothing that is special to you, and easy on the environment. In conversation around the luncheon tables, you’ll be able to discuss your slow fashion choices with others at your table. And we’ll have a few minutes of serious discussion on the implications of fashion choices and habits.

      Soup & Soul
On the third Sunday of (most) months, all are welcome to join us in the downstairs Community Hall for nourishing soup and conversation. Themes and discussion topis change monthly.
