Let’s Talk About Death

Rev. Sarah hosts a series of learning and discussion opportunities to help us plan for our eventual death. Bring a bag lunch—we will provide coffee, tea, goodies, the space and an expert to learn from:

Wednesday, Jan. 28 12-1:30 pm: hospice & palliative care, with a guest from Victoria Hospice
Note: due to high demand, this session will be held in the OBUC Sanctuary. Please enter via the Granite Street main entrance ramp/stairs.
Wednesday, Feb. 25 12-1:30 pm: planning your funeral, with a guest from Dignity Memorial (light lunch for this event only provided by Dignity Memorial)
Wednesday, Mar. 25 12-1:30 pm: wills, power of attorney, and legal matters, with guests Zach Burrill and associate, Family Lawyers
Wednesday, Apr. 29 12-1:30 pm: financial planning with guest Al Dubé (OBUC Treasurer) Wealth, Insurance and Tax Specialist

Advance registration requested so that we have enough resources to share. Please register at the link below. Each event is stand-alone, so register for as many (or as few!) of them as you wish. There is no cost to attend, but if you would like to make a donation in support of these events, that is greatly appreciated!

Location: We will meet in the OBUC Chapel. Entry is via the kitchen door, at the rear south-east corner of building, behind Gardiner Hall and at the rear of the church parking lot. If the number of attendees merits it, we will move to the OBUC Sanctuary, which may be accessed via Granite St. For those with mobility limitations, the level ground entry to the accessibility lift may be found on the left (east side) of the main entrance ramp.
